3 Day Murchison Falls & Chimpanzee Tracking
This 3 Day Murchison Falls & Chimpanzee Tracking experience combines Uganda's dramatic savanna landscapes with an exciting primate encounter. Starting from Kampala, you will travel northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park, with an optional stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking experience along the way.
Your second day focuses on the Nile, beginning with a boat cruise toward the bottom of Murchison Falls where you can observe elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds. You will then hike toward the top of the falls for spectacular views. The final day brings a chimpanzee tracking experience, where you will explore the forest with a ranger guide and may encounter other primates before returning to Kampala.

Day 1
Kampala to Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, your driver-guide will meet you at your hotel and begin the journey northwest toward Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes approximately seven hours, depending on road conditions and stops. Along the way, you have the option of stopping at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided rhino trekking experience before continuing toward the park.
Proceed toward Murchison Falls through Uganda's changing countryside, arriving at your accommodation later in the day. Check in, enjoy dinner and relax ahead of the following day's Nile experience.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Transport: Private 4x4 safari vehicle; approximately 7 hours from Kampala to Murchison Falls, excluding optional stops and activities.
Overnight: Lodge or camp in Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 2
Nile Boat Cruise & Hike to the Top of Murchison Falls
After breakfast, head to the Nile for a morning boat cruise toward the bottom of Murchison Falls. As you travel along the river, look for elephants, waterbucks, buffaloes, Nile crocodiles, hippos and a variety of bird species along the banks and water.
After the boat cruise, continue with a hike toward the top of Murchison Falls, where you can enjoy spectacular views of the Nile as it forces its way through the narrow gorge. After completing the hike, return for lunch and spend the remainder of the day relaxing at your accommodation.

Transport: Private vehicle to the jetty; approximately 2–3-hour boat cruise followed by approximately 1-hour waterfall hike.
Overnight: Lodge or camp in Murchison Falls National Park.
Day 3
Chimpanzee Tracking & Transfer to Kampala
After breakfast, transfer to the chimpanzee tracking visitor centre for your briefing. A ranger guide will explain the tracking guidelines and what to expect before leading you into the forest in search of chimpanzees. The activity generally takes approximately 2–3 hours, depending on the location and movement of the chimpanzees.
During the forest experience, you may also encounter other primates, including red-tailed monkeys, L'Hoest's monkeys and other forest species. After the activity, enjoy lunch before beginning your return transfer to your preferred location in Kampala, bringing your 3 Day Murchison Falls & Chimpanzee Tracking experience to an end.
